INTRODUCTION TO SPATIAL DESIGN

MODULE TASK

In this module, students are to learn about the principles of spaces and structures, along with all types of design principles that are to be translated into a model structure.

Assignment 1 (Individual) Design Elements

Assignment list

Assignment 1 (Individual) Design Elements

For this first assignment. Students are to compile 6 images of interior space of a building and compile them into an A4 layout with 2 space on each layout. Students are to identify every points on all 6 images using dots and connect them with lines to form a pattern. Finally, students are to select one of the pattern and develop it into a 3D model.

REFLECTION

This first assignment is very fun and engaging. A lot of activities is involved in this assignment. I didn't take long for me to find 6 images of interior spaces and make a dots and line pattern out of it. It took awhile to come up with a concept and finally able to create a 3D model eventually. The challenging part was fitting the planes into the spaces of the model as it takes precise measurements. Overall, I learned about how we can play around the form of 3D structures.
